I saw Kung Fu Panda 2 today, and I thought it was way better than the first one. Po is an amazing character, but my favorite has to Tigeress.
The movie starts out with a story about Lord Shan(?), and how he killed *all* the pandas. This is due to a soothsayers prophecy about Shan being defeated by a warrior of black and white *wink wink*.
So when Shan goes to take over his home with a new weapon (cannons), the Dragon Warrior and the Furious Five have to go and beat the guy's ass.
The plot could have been better, but it was good enough. The whole struggle with inner peace and the past on Po's part was well thought out though.
The ending was a definate cliffhanger. "My son is alive!" ~ Po's Father
Way to make us eager for Kung Fu Panda 3!
Overall, a solid 4 star movie.
I highly recommend going to watch it and/or buying it on DVD.
Till next time,
Grace

Friday
One more week of summer school to go!
Since 1:00 (which is when I get back home) I have just been lying around and sleeping. Too much exercise.
Interesting things happened today, though...
Tony (18 year old friend) and Morgan (13 year old friend) have been dating for about three weeks now. Tony came to summer school with a bad hangover (he took his mom out for her birthday and downed a whole tequila bottle by himself) and Morgan (obviously) got a little mad. I was *forced* into helping them. That took awhile. So afterwords, Tony and Morgan got back to doing whatever a couple does. Right in front of me. It was kinda gross.
There's a game in P.E thats kind of like kickball, but the bases are bigger and you have to run around them twice. It's called Matball. You have to get the ball across a certain green line on the court for it to not be a foul. While running, you can steal whenever and you only have to go back if the kicker fouls or strikes. If the ball is caught in the air, you don't have to tag up and you can just run whenever. Any number of people are allowed on a base at a time, and you don't have to run to the next base if you don't want to.
Anyway, I was on a very good team today. We won 32 - 0. Seriously, we were just cranking out runs and the other team was not very good at running around the bases or catching the ball. The pitcher, Adam, pitches very slow and won't throw the ball at you if you run at any time. (You get out by being tagged or the ball being thrown at you and hitting). It was kind of sad.
Yeah, that's pretty much my day highlights so far. Sorry for not posting sooner.

Help Me! And Other Things
At school, people I don't like keep coming up to me and talking to me! I don't want to be rude, so what can I say to make them go away?
Anyway, the guys in P.E are becoming more and more sexist. In football, I could be wide open and down the field, but the quarterback (male) throws it to a triple covered receiver! And in soccer, they tell me to "don't be so aggressive" or "go be a defender" when I can kick their male @$$s all the way down the field. I complain, and they don't listen. I get fouled, no one says anything. Another player (male again) gets fouled, and everyone is complaining about it.
I don't get it, why is this happening? I can't tell the coach or it will probably get worse. And don't just tell me to deal with it.
Otherwise, everything is good. My 13 year old (female) friend is going out with an 18 year old (male, also a friend)... another one of my friends likes an annoying nerd... yeah, everything is normal for me and my group of friends.

My Family - - A Complicated Bunch
Breakdown of my immediate family...
There is my Dad, a CW5 in the US Army
and my Mom, a retired Lt. Colonel in the US Army
Then
Zac -he's 22 and a 2nd Lieutenant in the US Army, graduated from Ballstate in Indiana
Shannon - she's 20 and in college to become an elementary school teacher at Manchester or something...
Me - The one writing this stuff and going to ninth grade in the fall
Pete - 13, extroverted, and going into eight grade this fall
Evie - Almost 6, extroverted, and going to first grade this fall
Jacob - 4, introverted, and will still be at home this fall
This is just close related family tree. There are a whole lot more people in my family (A LOT MORE, you should see our family get-togethers/reunions. There's like, atleast 50 people there! And I don't know most of them! Yay!

July 16 - - Saturday
I woke up today to the yelling of my mom. She was rudely waken up by my two little siblings, Jacob and Evie.
I went on a bike ride (cause I'm a exercise fanatic)
then I hauled mulch with my mom down to our playset. It was rather boring, actually.
My other younger brother came home from boy scout camp acting very negative, like someone crapped in his frosted flakes this morning. He got pissed at everything, and yelled at me for being, well, me. It went kind of downhill from there.
You see, Pete is usually a very social and extroverted kind of guy. Since he is "stuck" at home and all his friends are on some summer vacation, he is not getting his social needs. I also think he's been sneaking downstairs at night to raid the alcohol cabinet. Seriously, the wine and rum is going down and my dad isn't drinking it! No wonder he's such a grouch and has a headache in the morning! Pete, that is, not my dad.
Anyway, I also had a softball clinic today. I never learn anything, and the coaches keep trying to mess up my swinging and throwing (they have good intentions though). But I have fun, see friends, and get to make a fool of my self while also laughing my butt off.
Everyone in the softball league calls me "Rabbit", cause I run very fast. I got a medal today because of it! In the lower age group at the clinic, they called the fastest girl "Bunny". I thought it was kind of funny.
So yeah, another boring Saturday for me.
Thanks for reading,
Grace

Tomboyism
Here is some explanation on what it means to be a tomboy (for me, atleast) and some clearing up on tomboy myths/stereotypes.
Personally, I love being a tomboy. I get to hang out with a bunch of cool guys during P.E class and lunch. I do not think of guys as "hot" or "sexy". Those terms do not seem very relevant to me. I just hang out with any boy that lets me be me. Not those self-consious jerks aka "bad boy" popular guys. I tell those guys to piss off.
Myth One:
All Tomboys must be Lesbian.
Wrong. Wrong. Wrong. There are just as many non tomboy lesbians as tomboy lesbians. I do not even know any tomboys that are lesbian! About 50% of women say they displayed "tomboy" attributes as kids and teenagers. Not 50% of lesbians, but of all women who were polled!
Myth Two:
Tomboys are Girls who want to be Male.
Again, wrong. I actually prefer being female! I don't speak for the rest of people like me, but I think guys have it rough. If they get hit even lightly in their "special area", they fall on the floor holding their groins. When I get kicked with a soccer ball "there", it doesn't hurt! Guys are usually forced to be active and athletic while girls are let off. Nerdy boys are more bullied than nerdy girls. They are also more prone to taking steroids. *wink wink*
Sure, there are advantages to being male. Being taller, for instance. I am around 5'4'', and my younger brother is about 5'6''. Talk about uncool! Also, guys get to play "rougher" sports without being criticised. If I ran out onto a baseball or football field, I would probably get yelled at by the other team and/or parents. Of course, with my short hair they may not notice. Guys can look buff without looking wierd. Not to brag or anything, but I have some serious upperbody strength. But it kind of looks awkward when people don't know I'm a girl.
Myth Three:
All Tomboys are Aggressive or Non Caring.
I can be aggressive. I can also show no empathy for people I do not like. I just don't know what others are feeling sometimes, because I am nothing like them! When I get hit, I laugh and don't think anything of it. I think I just instinctively feel that others are like that. I don't understand that they may be hurt or upset. But I do care. I care a lot about people I love, especially real friends. I can handle my anger/aggression most of the time. Some people just know how to get under my skin! (examples: people who call me lesbian, people who won't let me play sports with the guys, and people who force me to be more "girly")
Like I have said before, I can't and won't speak for other tomboys. Some tomboys can be very aggressive, all the time. But some can be all for being caring and kind and not be aggressive at all. There are many different aspects of being a tomboy, and no one is the exact same.
Thats all for now.
Thanks for listening to me vent some very pent up feelings,
Grace

All About Me
Hello Everybody!
My name is Grace. If you haven't guessed, I am a tomboy and an introvert at the same time. To make this clear, I am not shy even though most people think that's what an introvert is. If you could see me in real life, then you would know that I am not shy. I am just okay with being alone, and that's where I get my energy. Anyway...
I am 14 almost 15, and starting high school next fall. I absolutely love sports, especially softball/baseball and football. My mom doesn't really want me to play football because she thinks I'll get hurt. After seeing the size of those football players, I think so too. But I still love playing the sport for fun. I hope I can manage to get onto the softball team at school, though.
I am taking on a real work load as my schedule for next year, which includes as follows:
Pre-AP Geometry
Pre-AP English
Pre-AP Biology
Pre-AP History
Advanced Band (get in by audition only)
IT Network Systems (Information Technology)
Spanish II
if you noticed that there is no P.E in my schedule, then you are very observant. I have to take that class over this summer so I can fit in my IT class. For people who think I am crazy by taking this many hard classes, I love a big challenge.
Enough about my school life. Since I am an introvert, I usually don't like being around people I do not know or do not like. I prefer being alone to being at a party. I can go to social events and have fun, but only for a few hours. My tomboy personality kind of overrides my introversion when I am around friends. I am an absolute goof ball at these times.
For the wierd people who think that tomboys MUST be lesbian, I am not. I had a steady relationship with a nice boy for a year before I moved away, and I am now in that stage right before the relationship starts with another sweet guy. I am absolutely straight as can be, I usually can't stand other girls at all...
Anyone have any questions that I want to answer, I love them and will try to answer as many as possible. Just comment.
Thanks for listening to me vent,
Grace
